About me

I am a musician and musicologist, currently based in Prague. I like early, but also other kinds of music – more choirs equal better music. I sing (voice type: baritone) and play wind instruments (recorder, shawm, crumhorn, cornamuse, irish whistle, sopilka, harmonica), string instruments (mandolin, guitar: acoustic, electric, baroque) and free-reed instruments (Anglo concertina, melodeon).

In addition to leading my own early music projects (Spherae sonantes, roots & echoes) and playing in bands (Mluvící šutr, Blueswan), I also collaborate with a variety of ensembles (Dvořákův komorní sbor, Ensemble Polyfonion, Ensemble Lazarus, Ensemble Versus, Ritornello, Philokallia Ensemble, Pražská katedrální schola, Pražští pěvci, Hora fugit, Schola Týnského chrámu, Pěvecký sbor Jeroným, Vox clamans, La Bilancetta, Literátské bratrstvo sv. Jindřicha, Wowes collegium - křižovnický sbor, Fragium16).

I have long been involved in transcribing and editing early music, including source research and the preparation of performance materials for the first performances of rediscovered works in modern times. I am also involved in artistic and technical production for St Nicholas Church in Prague's Lesser Town and for the Societas literatorum ensemble. I am active in theatre (divadlo ADHD, Divadlo Reflekt), move and transport musical instruments and organize and catalogue music collections. I also go running, climb mountains, cycle, and, above all, play in competitive marble tournaments. Through it all, I listen to (not only!) music. When it is dark, I look at the stars. I run on GNU/Linux.
